"O beautiful for heroes proved in liberating strife, who more than self their country loved, and mercy more than life! America! America! May God thy gold refine, till all success be nobleness, and every gain divine.
O beautiful for patriot dream that sees beyond the years thine alabaster cities gleam, undimmed by human tears! America! America! God mend thine every flaw, confirm thy soul in self-control, thy liberty in law."
from America the Beautiful by Katharine Lee Bates
"Some may come and some may go, but we will surely pass. Till the One who left us here, returns for us at last. We are but a moment's sunlight, fading on the grass..."
from Let's Get Together by Chet Powers
"Lookin' back on the memory of the dance we shared 'neath the stars above. For a moment, all the world was right. How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye? I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance."
from The Dance by Tony Arata

Thank You for the memories of those towers. Looking at them makes me think of all those innocent people who were in those towers, in the planes, in the Pentagon...and all other victims of terrorism.
Thank You for the words, too.
wow - great song/poem choices.
beautiful ----
you find the softest stuff
The only thing that would make this post better would be to hear your voice singing these beautiful songs. I'll just settle for the voice in my head for now.
I'm lost for words.
Very different from everything else I've read the past few days...and each choice profoundly beautiful.
